The historic stadium was built at the time
of King Amanullah Khan ruled Afghanistan in 1923. Named Ghazi as being the
embodiment of Ghazi (Hero) for the victory of the Afghan stronghold in the
Third Anglo-Afghan War and gained independence for his people after the
Anglo-Afghan Treaty of 1919. The stadium has a large capacity that is able to
accommodate 25,000 spectators.
Ghazi stadium is known haunted by the
surrounding community. Why not, during the Taliban regime, this stadium is
often the location of execution alias death penalty many people who are accused
of crimes / criminals. As a result the stadium is believed by the public that
many ghosts of the ghosts of criminals who used to be either punished by stoned
to death or shot with long-barreled rifles from close range.

The charisma of violent nuances and miserable stories that
developed in this stadium caused no locals willing and daring to visit the
stadium after sunset. In other news also, the first land in the stadium terseut
already no longer able to grow the natural grass so it must be replaced with
new ground from outside the stadium but this has not yet produced results.
Then
in 2011 the Ghazi stadium was renovated. All the soil is removed and replaced
with new soil and drainage and replacing the damaged natural grass with
synthetic grass placed over soil and drainage. Because of the renovation is now
Ghazi stadium in the city of Kabul has turned into a beautiful stadium. But
still unable to eliminate the dark history.
